CONFUSED / HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NEW BUS NETWORK
Presentation and Q&A
Zoom Meeting - Wednesday, July 23, 7:00-8:45 pm
Greetings bus riders,
WMATA's new bus network went into effect on June 29. Even with all of WMATA's considerable outreach, many are nonetheless confused by:
- the re-numbering of *every* bus line,
- changes to routing and frequencies of many bus lines,
- new transfer points,
- locations of new bus stops (including at Metro stations) and old one that were eliminated.
Following the well-attended "New Bus Network Explained" event (on the hottest day of the year), the Chevy Chase Community Association (CCCA) and the Friends of Bus Transit (FoBus) are again collaborating on a similar event, "Clarifying the New Bus Network" -- this time on Zoom -- to go over the new network in detail and to answer all your questions. This will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 7:00 to 8:45 pm. While we will be mostly focusing on areas west of Rock Creek Park, this event is open to anyone.
This event will have two parts:
1. A presentation by FoBus on the nitty-gritty details, to include:
- A breakdown of every line that goes through, to, and from our neighborhoods, including routing and frequencies
- A focus on new signage, transfer points, and bus stops that were eliminated and added
- Where bus stops are at Friendship Heights and Tenleytown Metro stations
- Changes to Metrobus and Ride-On service to/from Bethesda, Kensington/Wheaton, and Silver Spring
2. A Q&A session, when you'll have an opportunity to ask questions like:
- "Where will I catch the bus from where I live and which line(s) will come there?"
- "How do I get from my house to my medical appointments on New Mexico Avenue?"
- "How will I, or my workers, travel to/from across Rock Creek Park?"
...or any other question you may have.
